Gerry Moffatt first arrived in Nepal on a British kayaking expedition in 1983 at the age of eighteen. He achieved world recognition as he steadily picked off one first decent after another of the major rivers that drain the high peaks of the Himalayas. Now, 38 he is set to achieve the final leg of a life long journey, to become the first man to successfully kayak all the river systems of the Nepalese Himalayas.

In 1985 he was introduced to Mahendra Thapa one of the original Nepali raft guides to emerge as rafting developed in Nepal. In 92 the duo formed Equator Expeditions, an adventure travel company based out of Kathmandu. Gerry established the first rafting company in Northern Pakistan. In 1997 he was the main architect behind the mapping of the river systems throughout the Kingdom of Bhutan. In 2002 he was made the first White Water Consultant to the Kingdom of Nepal.

Gerry has produced and worked on the production of adventure documentaries for National Geographic Television, Outdoor Life Network, Channel 4 and Trans World Sport. His experience in the world of adventure is derived from a lifetime of expeditioning, instructing and guiding throughout Asia, Africa and South America. He Currently resides between the Himalaya, Karakorum, Rockies and the North Shore of Maui where he can best pursue his professional expertise in the world of global kayaking, climbing, skiing, windsurfing and film making.
